Congratulations on your retirement, Mr. D!

After many years serving as our caretaker, general handyman, and jack-of-all trades, Mr. D has recently retired from the Algonquin and Lakeshore Catholic District School Board.

Angelo has been a member of the St. James School Community for more than 25 years. His two sons, Matthew and Ryan, were students at St. James for many years. As a parent, Angelo was active at the school, volunteering for school trips, helping out at special events, and being present at our school for all our school functions. Angelo has also been an important link between the school and our Parish for many years. Through his active role within our Parish, Angelo was often our “go to” for anything that required coordination between the school and the Parish.

For many years, Angelo served as the caretaker, emergency staff member, and lunch monitor at St. James. He always did an excellent job, building on the strong rapport he had already established with the school and our students. During Catholic Education Week in 2023, Angelo received the Excellence in Supporting Catholic Education Award for the meaningful work that he did each day to go above and beyond in support of our students. This is a distinguished award given to only one staff member in our school board each year.

Thank you, Mr. D, for all you have done for our school over the years. Although we will miss you, we wish you all the best in your retirement. You are always welcome to come back and visit or join us for our special events anytime. God bless!
